Content marketing is creating content that addresses your prospect’s pain points and BUILDS AWARENESS and credibility for your brand.

Content is either a page on your website (blog), a video or social media post.

Marketing is where the content gets published. There are basically 3 places where you can market your content.

Every new blog post is like adding an additional page to your website, which increases your chance of getting found in searches.

A video can either be embedded on your website or posted on YouTube.

A social media post can be published on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter …..or our favorite Quora.

There are 2 KEY THINGS to creating great content.

1. Who is your target audience? You need to know who this people are and where they hang out. This is niche marketing. If you target everbody, you will reach nobody.

You need to know the language they speak in order to use it in your content. What keywords and phrases do they use?

2. What problems do your prospects have? What are their pain points?  Your content should address their problem. Show them you have a solution.

Content marketing is MORE THAN just raising awareness for your company, it is about building credibility.

When you show your prospects that you understand their problems, and are there to help them (instead of just selling them), they will trust you.

People are more likely to click on a search result versus an ad because a top ranked search result is deemed more credible.

Content marketing is the foundation for search engine optimization (SEO).

A blog is the BEST WAY to get organic traffic..period.

With a blog you can create additional pages on your website to address EVERY problem your customer faces. With each post, you are making it easier to get found in search queries.

For EVERY problem your prospect faces, there are proabably at least 5 types of searches they make for it. Those are 5 additional ways for your site to get listed in a search.

Videos. Having a YouTube channel is another great way to get found in searches. YouTube, owned by Google, is the 2nd largest search engine. If your product can be demonstrated, videos are a great form of content marketing.

TIP: Using a video service like Vimeo may seem like a great idea because you “own” the video content. The problem with this is that the content won’t be found in searches. We suggest uploading videos to your YouTube channel and embedding them in blog posts when possible.

Social Media Post. They are the easiest by far but they LACK the main point to great content marketing…getting found in searches. You can tweet, or post on FaceBook or LinkedIn but once that post gets pushed down by other posts..it is gone. In addition, it will NEVER get found in a search engine.

TIP: We like using Quora as a way to market content. Create a profile on Quora and use your website’s link in your profile. You will find numerous questions prospects have about your type of business. Start answering them and include a link back to your website.

Have you ever looked forward to an email, or a video? You knew when it would be coming and actually looked forward to it?

That is GREAT CONTENT.

Great content is anything where your prospects and customers look forward to receiving or seeing it.

What we did was identify ALL of the problems golfers could solve when they used this tool. We created 7 videos that demonstrated how the tool solved EACH problem.

We added search engine optimization to each video on YouTube.

Then we created 7 blog posts addressing each problem. The corresponding YouTube video was embedded in each blog post.

Once the blog post was published, we then added the link to the corresponding video on YouTube.

We essentially had 14 ways (over 25 when you include the images) for this golf training tool to be found.
